Organic Logo
In order to promote organic products at both national and international levels, Tunisia has created a voluntary and free-of-charge logo for these products. To be eligible to use this logo, the product must be certified by an approved control and certification body in accordance with current Tunisian regulations. The logo is granted only upon submission of a formal request by stakeholders, following a standardized template, accompanied by a certificate of conformity issued by the control and certification body. This certificate must prove that the product has been obtained in compliance with organic production rules. The application must be submitted to the relevant services of the Regional Agricultural Development Commissariats or to the General Directorate of Organic Agriculture, which will review the request within a period not exceeding one month from the date of submission. Please note that the applicant is required to forward to the General Directorate of Organic Agriculture all labels currently in use, as well as any proposed modifications to the labeling.
In the event of a favorable outcome, the logo is granted by a decision of the Minister of Agriculture, which shall be accompanied by a document specifying the placement of the logo, its dimensions, colors, shape, and all the rules that must be respected for its use according to the media used for this purpose. In case of refusal, the concerned party must be informed by explicit registered letter.
This logo has been registered by the Ministry of Agriculture with the National Institute of Standardization and Industrial Property.
